Is summer bad?

It seems summer makes me a worse skater...I got new a deck is it that or just summertime blues?Would being a fiberlight instead of maple hurt my skills?I just need answers.

Scratch the me sucking in the summer i just got my birthday board today I think I like 7-layers of hard rock maple to this Deck Tech crap...
